The following is a list of prohibited materials that Central Jersey Recycling cannot accept at its facilities. Any prohibited material in your scrap metal may result in the rejection of your load.
- PCBs and capacitors
- Closed containers, including unapproved drums
- Pressurized containers, including post-consumer aerosol cans
- CFCs and HCFCs
- Whole or broken batteries within ferrous loads
- Television or computer monitors
- No scrap materials with HAZMAT or RADIOACTIVE markings
- Any free-flowing liquid or solid wastes
- Any combustible, flammable, or explosive materials
- Lighting ballast
- Radioactive materials
- Mercury (switches)
- Firearms and munitions (except by prior agreement)
- Fluid drained from all components
- Car transmission / motors
- Stainless steel kegs
